Re: Knock Knock (again)
I think you will find the cam is a little off the center line of the lifters that is what makes them rotate. They did that by design.

Re: Knock Knock (again)
Thanks guys for the additional ideas. I am waiting to get another manifold so I can get the thing back together again. So will have to try some of your added ideas a little later.
In the mean time I think I will check the clearances on the other values and see how they are. May also set number 6 back to where it should be and see what that does for me.

Re: Knock Knock (again)
I've set mine at .012 I & .014 EX and never had a burnt valve. Where are you going to set # 6?

Re: Knock Knock (again)
Think I will just go with what Andrews recommends, the .013 and .015.

Sorry about additional info on this subject again but I think I now have found the problem and fixed it. So thought I had better post what I did to solve problem. I took things apart again so that I could re-check the settings of the adjustable valves. Well I found that valve #6 was set at about .020. Wow way out! So I adjusted it again to where it should be and also re-checked some of the other valves. Found a couple of them out and adjusted them. Put everything back together again and started the rig up. Wow, no more knock! So I think, I have it fixed! But I have not had time to take it out on a road test so not to sure but it seems like it is fixed!!!! Anyway thought I would update you all with the latest messing around I have been doing with this problem and hope I have fixed this problem..

Re: Knock Knock (again)
Did you settle on .013 and .015?

Re: Knock Knock (again)
Yes, maybe + or. - a bit. But close. As good as an old farmer can do!
