What about a Steam Engine, they don't use fossil fuels, not directly anyway.

My touring engine was built by Turlock Machine (Turlock, CA) and has insert main and rod bearings, counter balanced crankshaft, "B" grind camshaft, 5.4 Snyder high compression head, lightened flywheel (37 pounds including ring gear), V8 pressure plate, and a full flow oil filter.

Because of the additional horse power, I chose to rebuild the rear end and install a 3.54 ring and pinion rather than a overdrive because I live at 3500' elevation in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Had I lived in the valley I probable would have installed a 3.27 ring and pinion.

I really enjoy driving my early 30 Deluxe Coupe with this engine, it steers easy with the 2 tooth sector and a new short pitman arm, lots of power, climbs hills with out a lot of shifting.

Was so impressed I installed the same type engine in my early 29 Roadster. Still have the 3.78 rear end but plan to convert to 3.54 at a later date.
