I have a pair of folding windshield posts on my 29 roadster. Aftermarket for sure but mine fold back toward the driver. You can rake the windshield without cutting up a good pair of stations for that racy look like so many did.

Another great pic of a fold down screen.

Is that a 39/40 ford coupe behind ?

This street scene looks like a long way from Canada !

Florida plates.

This pic is going straight to the pool room........

(Aussies will know what this is.....)

The above photo is of a '30 '31, all of which had folding 'screens ; nothing to do with a Sport roadster.
Also the photo you posted that started this thread was taken at a US Ford show & is not a Canadian Sport rdstr.
37 Benny asks colours, but could be anything the Dealer did to attract a buyer.
Henna Red, Nankeen Brown & Mt Vernon Green [all unknown colours] were the Canadian Sport Rdstr factory colours when announced.
Does anyone care??
As you ask, the V8 coupe looks to be a '38 ; sharper angle at the roof/deck join.

I have a set of reproduction posts that are still being made to order today.Only downside is that they come in 2" and 3" chopped.I'm not sure if he makes them in stock length.Like others have said about the 70's versions, they do take a little effort to make them fit correctly..

I actually found a couple of sets over the years. They're heavy bronze castings and yeah, they need a little shaping to work with the dash cap. I found that by simply flipping the left and right stanchions side-to-side they can be raked back instead of folding forward. There's no place to set your ashtray and cheeseburger, but the racy look is worth the flip. Supposedly there's a guy in Tehachapi still making them, but they're aluminum and I hear they flop around at speed.

Our 1929 Roadster with an April build date has a folding windshield. It appears older than 1970, and the story when we bought the car some 20 years ago was that it was originally owned by a farmers wife outside Lancaster, PA. She put a number of dress-up items on it over the next couple years including the folding windshield, wind wings and Tiffany cowl lights. It then went out to a museum in Indiana where it spent most of its life until we bought it.
