Default Y block water temp sending unit

How do you check to verify it works? It's 12 volt. Thanks.....

If your temp gauge doesn't work at all it could be gauge or sender. ground sender wire to a ground, with ign. on and gauge should move to hot. if so I'd suspect bad sender. If gauge doesn't read grounded, I'd suspect bad gauge or wiring. To check the sender, rig a long wire from the sender connection to the sender wire, ground the case of the sender and with the ign on heat the sender with a flame. If gauge tested Ok and the heated sender doesn't change the gauge bad sender or wiring
