Default another side curtain question

I see the storage tray under the seat (thanks for the info). This roadster is a friends car and I am making a set of side curtains but now am having trouble understanding how the door is supposed to open with the side curtain attached.Let me explain, when the door opens it starts to pull really tight at the top of the windshield and if I leave the curtain unsnapped on the upper part of the windshield it will pull away 3in. from the stud with the door open to 90deg. Im stumped

here are some pictures of my problem. the first picture is the door closed with my pattern in place with blue tape to see the outline, the rod is straight up and down with the aft end of the door, the second picture is door open with curtain pulled away from windshield at top, third picture is curtain held in place on windshield but pulled away at aft end of door. if I leave enough material along top of curtain it leaves a large bag at top

You are drawing it too tight. They originally had a wind flap that fastened inside the top bow following it's curve. The main door curtain road outside that but still under the lip of the outside top. You are attempting to draw the curtain diagonally (or in a straight path) from the stanchion to the curtain rod.

Thanks for the picture. I opened the door and took a measurement at the top and added to the pattern at the fwd top and tapered to the bottom and it looks like it will fit. With the extra material it looks like it will follow the curve of the top better were it angles in towards the windshield. I'll take pictures when I'm done. I was trying to keep wrinkles out but that aint gunna work Thanks again for the help
