Default Generator Question

I have a fixture set up to check Generators as if they were running on a car. I have a Generator that shows excellent charge, a 110 motor turns it clockwise looking at the pulley. The same Generator off the fixture if I put the positive cable off my battery charger on the ground and my negative cable on the generator post it will motor clockwise.
I have two other generators that I have checked the armatures on a growler etc that won't charge on the fixture. They look good inside but these motor counter clockwise. The second, third and forth picture show's the fixture running and the charge. Can that be my problem (counter clockwise rotation) why they don't show charge? Don't understand why one has clockwise motor rotation and two have counter clockwise motor rotation)

Great set-up for testing Generators charging rate.

Most likely wrong polarity. The field will need to be flashed to correct the polarity. The internal fields should be checked for ohm values and proper connections as well. The one terminal has to be well Isolated from ground.

The field coils may have to be flashed several times to reverse the polarity of the field pole shoes when they have already been magnetzed. Make sure the internal connections to the brushes and case are correct too.
