new to forum
I bought my 1931 Ford model A Tudor in Oct. It has been sitting since 1969. It took a little work to get it running but it seemed to run pretty good so I drove it around for about three weeks. Gave it a compression test and had 60# in 1 & 2 but 40# in 3 & 4 and was thinking head gasket, but it ended up burnt exhaust valves. So the engine is out and will be new when done. Fun Fun Fun. Always wanted a model A, so I figured it was time. want to make it a daily driver .

Welcome to the fun and forum. You may want to check out '365 days of a' where a guy is driving his for one year.

WELCOME TO THE BARN! Tudors are neat cars, sort of un-assuming but they have a lot of room inside and big doors so they are easy to get in and out of. If necessary, you can easily move the front seats back a little to gain more leg room. They make great Tour Cars. It sounds like you may want to re-torque the head and see if that helps. If not, head gaskets are sort of a common problem. If you have to remove the head, you can then get an idea of what the upper end of the engine looks like. Enjoy your "New" Model A. Chris |

Al - Owning and driving a Model Aa is better than anything else you could be doing, legal or otherwise.
It certainly looks like you have a good solid car to work with. I noticed your top is in just as "good" a shape as mine was. Don't be afraid to tackle restoring it; if I did it, anyone can!

Re: new to forum
Looks like a peach! Good luck with it. I just went through a rebuild on my motor and it was the most fun I had in years. Valves and lifters were my problem too.
