Default 1936 1/2 Ton pickup Cowl vent positions

Gentlemen,
After cleaning and lubricating the cowl vent mechanism, I have it working in three
Positions. Pics are attached 1. Closed 2. Begins to open and vent rises from the aperture 3. Open for fresh air. Is there one more fully open position as the mechanism under the dash looks like it has one more notch to go.

My pickup has four positions. The first position is closed. 2nd position opens about an inch. 3rd position is maybe 2.5” and the 4th position is probably 4”. I did not measure these but it gives you a ballpark. Check your mechanism to make sure it’s not bent. These mechanisms can bind and can bend easily if someone tries to force it. One suggestion, remove the lid from the mechanism so that you can see from the top what is going on. Much easier than crawling under a dash. Let me know if you need any additional info. Feel free to post pictures of the mechanics behind the dash. It should be easy to tell if it’s tweaked. Good luck!
