Default SW sedan crossmember hole cover

Some posts questioned the rear cross member hole cover. Attached is a photo of what appears to be an after market metal cover. The holes are also in the pan for the fabric cover straps.

That takes a few pressings to make. Fords way was much cheaper using left over upholstery material.

Somewhat off topic but...
I recently removed the fabric crossmember cover on a '31 Slant Windshield to replace a rear spring u-bolt because of a stripped thread.
It would have been ugly if it had a riveted cover!

duke if you install a metal cover over the hole, your seat spring bottom will be ridding right on it. installing a fabric one is easy.

Car came with cover, no issues with seat bottom. Have insulation on top of pan.
