2 speed fordomatic
Am going to do some work on my trans and read a few articles that the fluid filter needs to be only washed out and not replaced. Any thoughts?

other ford transmissions use a screen filter.you just wash it out i would think these are the same.

I'd expect the procedure to be described in a Shop manual or Motor's manual that covers the year of the transmission.

If you're going to pull the pan anyway, then I guess it will answer the question. It would be nice to know ahead of time though.

its just a screen, in fact the manual says you can filter and re-use the fluid
