Engine Stand Adapter
Are the engine stand adapters that Brattons, snyders and Macs offers strong enough to mount an engine with flywheel by the water outlet bolts and two oil pan bolts? Are there any advantages/disadvantages to these brackets? Is there any better options to these anywhere?
Thanks for your time. Joe Grobleski Cape Codder |

Re: Engine Stand Adapter
Cape Codder , One great thing about these adapters is it lets you check the flywheel and flywheel housing runout while the engine is standing nose down . Reading the indicator is a lot easyier if you don't have to stand on yopur head to see . Bubby Sharp in KY

Re: Engine Stand Adapter
Bert's Model A in Denver has previously stated that they have extra pins that go into the oil pan bolt holes. Just give them a call.

Re: Engine Stand Adapter
Bill Stipe's adapter is the bargain. And it is right down your alley because it is offset to balance the engine with the flywheel installed. See Red Rocket post a couple above this one for the phone number.

Re: Engine Stand Adapter
The "original" KRW stands used by Ford dealers used this type of mounting system.

Re: Engine Stand Adapter
I am getting ready to pull an engine. I have an inexpensive engine stand. I think that I bought it 10 years ago at H-F and never used it. Before they went away I bought an adapter from AC&R. It looks like one in another post. Looks like it bolts to the water inlet and two bolt holes in the pan area. Is the Brattons adaptor better (it costs $100 including shipping) ? I have not looked at a picture of the Stipe adapter. I wish that I had a 4 wheel stand now. Comments. Just wondering?

Re: Engine Stand Adapter
Vic: there were previous threads on this subject. Do a search. Several have used the H-F stand w/no problems.
