Default Amp meter

I am installing my amp meter, it is the one with the ford script. However their is no makings on the back to indicate which connection is plus or minus. Most of the wiring diagrams show connecting to the the proper terminal. How could I know which is which? Would the minus be behind the charge side of the gauge?

The easiest thing to do is hook it up and before you screw the instrument panel
back on turn the lights on and it should show discharge. If it shows charge
reverse the wires.

Bob is right. Easier to test than think about it. There were some repros manufactured backwards and I think the Model T will work but it is backwards.

Also note that "test it before you screw everything back in" is just a really good practice in general and should be reinforced whenever possible.

But, if you were a dummy like me and screwed the dash back in, you could reverse the wires down at the terminal box.
