Are there any specific "preferred points" to place the car jack when lifting the Model A? So far I have lifted only under the middle front axle and under the middle differential. In both cases I was lifting two wheels off the ground. If I wanted to lift just one wheel off the ground at a time? Don't want to bend anything that's not already bent. ;-) Thanks in advance. I have just jacked one end of the front or rear axles to lift just one wheel. Have not raised them more than an inch or two. Have not found that to be bothersome, I hesitate to say about raising by a mid-frame jacking. I fear that may cause more problems than it will cure unless one used two jacks simultaneously. It would seem to be okay for a short period of time, but to leave it a week or so up on one jack would be inviting trouble, I believe. But what do I know? These frames may be stronger that I think. Your results may vary.

This would be my opinion also. I think the rear end would especially be a place I would not want to jack up from its center.

We have always jacked up one corner at a time. Putting car on jack stands.

The A's and all early Fords have been jacked up under the center of the diff since Cxxxxt left Philly. with no problems..................JMO

I agree with Paul. Front or rear by center or end, but then place a jack stand and remove jack. Easiest is lift in center and stands to the outside.

OK so jack goes under differential or front spring and both wheels come off the ground; got it.

Question is where should I put the jackstands? I would think on the the axle housing more outboard towards the wheels onthe rear but where on the front? IS the frame near the wheels used as the jackstand contact position?

I have never jacked or supported a Model A so please take it easy on me

I put them under the axles for most work. Axle work would require the jackstands under the frame.

I place my jack stands just inboard of the spring perches.
