Default Re: Harvey

We barely dodged the bullet in our house in Houston. The water came up to less than an inch of the top of the concrete slab. The house is 65 years old and has never been flooded. It is located between the Astrodome and Braes Bayou. Others on our street and area were not so lucky. I drove around the neighborhood and the devastation brought tears to my eyes. There are water logged cars and debris piled as high as 6 feet all over the place. I even saw a couple of large pianos. My wife did over 20 loads of washing and drying for a neighbor and we have a room filled those clothes plus others which need dry cleaning. I wish I could do more but at 83 I feel I would just be getting in the way. We did contribute some $'s though. My old Fords are OK as they are stored in my barn about 100 miles west of here. A neighbor told me that everything is fine there.
