I run Shell Rotella 15/40 in my stock original engine. Probably 12000 since rebuild. I run it hard at times. No filter. I change oil every 1000 miles.
Cheers
Tony

It depends. If the engine is new, 10-30 is appropriate. If well used 20-50 would be a good choice. It is a good practice to change regularly at about 1000 miles.
