Default Thread size - windshield frame screws?

I am in the prosess of restoring the windshield on my 1930 A coupe and have run into a snag. The 90 degree corner braces that fit into the corners need their threads chased in order to install new screws. Can anyone tell me the size and thread count for the tap I need?
8x32 is too small and 10x32 has too many threads.
Thanks in advance, Steve

My research on the A-79405 windshield (for the 82-A, 79-A, and 85-A) show that the A-37156 angle used two 10-32 x 3/8 flathead screws.

You could call Snyder's and ask for details on their fasteners (https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/P...ndshield-parts). They are good at providing information in my experience.

In restoring my Tudor I’ve found Henry liked 10-24 thread size and can be purchased through restoration supply houses.

I found the windshields on the 4 enclosed cars I have used 10-32 screws. also most other #10 screws on these cars are 10-32.

This is what I have found so far; the hole size is the same as a 10x32 screw/tap, and I can confirm this with a decimal # drill bit which fits perfectly. The threads per inch do not match up with a 10x24 because there are more teeth on the remaining threads of the screw than that, and a 10x24 screw does not fit even the first turn. A 10x32 screw has the same issues and binds up as it is turned - it has more threads than the original screws I removed. This leaves me to believe I am looking at a 10x28 tap and I can not locate one in any of my catalogs. At this point, it's still a guess?
