Default What is it that YOU love about your car.

For me I love the shape of an A Coupe - not so keen on the lack of leg room though.

I have been going to car shows for 25 years here in the Uk - the one style that always fascinated me was the coupe .......... So I bought one - now all I have got to do is get it up and running for the summer.

So may I ask what are your loves and hates ??

Bob

The truck was my Dads, I got to help him fix it up in the 60's, it was time well spent and cherished to this day. We found out we enjoyed working together and I worked for him until we sold the business in the mid 80's. The truck isn't"correct" but it is what he wanted and it is just like he and I, "just a little different". He has been gone close to 20 years and I feel him in the seat next to me whenever I'm in it. That's what I love about it!!

I love the looks of the early cars, and when I found my 29 tudor in 1975 peering out of open barn doors in the north west hills of CT, I had to have it. I have had many model A;s since, all years, most body styles, but still love that 29 tudor. The history adds to it's desire. My sons came home from hospital in that car when they were born, I have driven it all these years, and it is like a part of me. It is more like wearing a coat then driving a car, I climb in, and we are one. I have been to 6 states in it, and can tell many stories. I recently bought a 29 coupe, and enjoy the coziness of it, and love the looks, but the tudor will always be my favorite.

It has been my therapy for the last 7 years. In a complicated world it is the simplicity that I love about my car. I always joke it takes 5 minutes to change the carb and 3 minutes of that is finding your 1/2 inch box end wrench.

I love the sound of a Model A. Unfortunately, mine doesn't sound like one.

P.S. So I guess that's what I don't like about my car! Everything else is swell, and I love it.

The best thing for me is watching the amazing mirrored reflections of the landscape and sky coming from the back of the headlights as I drive down the road.

I like the looks and the top down rides in my 30 roadster but love the coziness and solid feel of my 29 Special coupe, always loved the look of the leatherback coupe.

It was my very first car, bought in 1960. As a town sedan, it was the body style that most appealed to me (like a gangster car) and still is--we go way back.

The amazing sound, feel, looks, ride, smell, reliability, easy to work on if you ever have to. She's just as perfect as a car could be.

My wife likes to ride in it. There is no way I thought she would she would enjoy it, but instead she insists I work on it during the week, so it will be ready for a weekend drive. They both improve with age.

I love all 5 of my running Model As, but I especially love the 28 roadster I'm currently restoring because I'm a project junky, and it gives me a reason to get up in the morning and do something productive.

The sound and smell of the exhaust. Reminds me of childhood summers traveling the country with my grandparents.

Ive loved A,s since I got my 1st one 60 years ago.It was a 31 S/W sedan.Ive had 16 A,s since then & still have a 30 coupe & a 31 S/W sedan that is the twin to my 1st car. When I drive the 31,its like i am 15 again.I also love the dependability of them & ease of repair.I also like being the "computer" that adjusts timing, fuel mixture, charging rate etc.

When Roger Kaufmann was asked which Model A he liked the best, he replied, "Whichever one I'm in at the time". Perfect answer. My Model A is my time machine. When me and my wife are driving leisurely down a country road, especially a gravel country road, and there are no newer houses in sight, no newer cars, etc, just old stuff, well guess what? It's 1930 all over again, for all intents and purposes, and it never ceasses to just thrill me when I think about it. I started on Model A's 30 years ago. Then, as time went on, I started buying newer cars, like 35 Ford, 37 Plymouth, all the way up to a 56 Cadillac. The this past summer I stumbled onto a Rip Van Winkle 28 business coupe, rust free and not terribly molested, and now I've forgotten all about those "newer" cars. We went back to our first love. My wife prefers Model A's above all the rest also. Been there. Done that, and it all comes back to A's.
