Steady rest for foot feed
When I was replacing the floor boards in my '28 Tudor I discovered that the steady rest for the foot feed is adjustable for hight. Before when I would use it my ankle was sometimes at an awkward position. So I adjusted it down and now my ankle is more comfortable and I am steadier on the gas. Just an observation others may find interesting.

Re: Steady rest for foot feed
When you buy an expensive up-scale car like the Ford Model A . . . you get nothing but quality 'appointments', like the adjustable 'foot rest'.

Re: Steady rest for foot feed
From the song Hot Rod Lincoln "had my foot feed clear to the floor, said that's all there is, there ain't no more".

Re: Steady rest for foot feed
Listen to the earlier Johnny Bond version. He tells about the foot feed, and also tells about twisting the speedometer cable clean off the end.Probably the most popular version,or at least the most known, was done by Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen. There was also a version done by Moon Martin??Moon Mullins?? others have done it,but I've never heard a bad or butchered version of it.Working on big trucks we always refer to the pedal as the foot feed, and the throttle is on the dash, run by hand.

Re: Steady rest for foot feed
I just got to thinking, the foot feed version may have been done by the original writer,Charlie Ryan. The lyrics were a lot different too.I heard it on Outlaw country not too long ago.I'm not too good with computers,I learned that I have to stay away from music sites.

I have the original Charlie Ryan record. I also met the guy and saw the model A hot rod lincoln many years ago.

Don't think I'd ever heard the original version before. Must be too much of a pup!

Re: Steady rest for foot feed
First time I have heard the "foot Feed" version. Love it...
I found this version also; Well I wound it up to a hundred and ten Twisted the speedometer cable off the end Had my foot beat clear to the floor That's all there is and there ain't no more This last version also had a 12 cylinder lincoln so it must have been an old one (Some say 8 cylinder). Re: Steady rest for foot feed
Where is the proper (stock) location for the foot rest (in relation to accelerator pedal)?

Re: Steady rest for foot feed
Also a trip odometer, door pockets, air conditioning, positive ventilation (without a fan), adjustable timing from inside the car, adjustable fuel mixture, map (GPS) light, Anti Theft Protection (if you are not a Model Aer nobody can figure out how to start it), no computer modules to crap out, sporty some models even came standard with bucket seats, when some country drops an EPM Bomb you will still be able to drive your Model A (may not be able to buy gas but you can still drive), rolled and pleated interior, no need for windshield wipers (RainX), go anywhere without 4 wheel drive. What other car made today has all this and more to offer?
