How hard to change??
This might be a dumb question but I will ask it anyway. I am putting together a rusty 29 CCPU. I found the cab that had been laying out in a field for 60 years and the gas tank was shot so I am changing it to another tank. I have a really good clean tank but the front panel ( panel that the coil fastens to is cracked really bad and has been welded before) So I would like to change that panel.
Question! 1. How is it fastened to the gas tank? 2. How hard is it to change? 3. How do You do it? |

The upper firewall panel is spotwelded to the gas tank. You will have to first locate the spotwelds then drill them out. Reassembly requires welding through the drilled out holes.
Use caution welding on a tank that has had gas in it. I filled my tank with CO2 as precaution before welding on it. Kevin |

Drill a hole in a piece of board w/the holesaw, clamp that board over the spotweld w/the hole centered over the spotweld. Remove the centre bit from the holesaw. You'll have to be carefull to just cut through the first layer of metal. Simple.
