The early forged front fender bracket
OK Guys…One last time here.
This concerns the early forged front fender bracket at it’s mounting end to the front fender. The MARC/MAFCA RG & JS’s tell us on page 4-14 Revised 2011, the following about the FRONT FENDER BRACKETS: “Initially, (front) fender brackets were forged with squared outer ends and ¼” RAISED “ROUND” BOSSES at the fender edge”. Here is my concern and question, and once again it is a play with words between the usage of “ROUND” and “OVAL”. Were there early forged front fender brackets with ¼” RAISED "ROUND" BOSSES at the fenders edge? I, as many others that I have contacted, and there have been a few, have only seen the early forged front fender brackets with squared outer ends and ¼” RAISED “OVAL” BOSSES at the fender edge. Granted, the forged REAR fender bracket has the ¼” RAISED “ROUND” BOSSES but not the RAISED “OVAL” BOSSES to my knowledge. If you have in your possession, a forged front fender bracket with the RAISED “ROUND” BOSS at the fender edge, (like the rear bracket) I sure would like to see it in its entire form. I truly do not think one exists…but I have been proven wrong in other instances. Gary Karr will be posting photos of the two types soon…so please stay tuned. See below...OVAL on the left (front) and ROUND on the right (rear). Thank you. Pluck Last edited by Steve Plucker; 04-15-2021 at 11:24 PM. |
