I’ve used Dupli-Color vinyl and fabric coating on an interior project (not Model A) a few years ago, I was really happy with the results

I bought 'Rit' dye for fabric, mixed with water with a spray bottle slightly rubbed it in with a damp cloth '''' perfect. it was a medium/dark brown powder mixed with water.

Again with a more 'modern car', if you are changing/correcting the colour of vinyl I highly recommend SEM products. I have been using them for years with great success.

I think for us to properly answer your question, it would be best to know what bodystyle you are referring to. Many open bodies (Roadster, Phaeton, etc.) originally used a dyed panelboard, so using a spray dye would likely do well. Some bodystyles used a leather covering on the doors. Certain types of leather can be re-colored successfully however others cannot. Other bodystyles used wool and broadcloth for door coverings, -and typically do not take dyes very well. Therefore knowing what you are working on allows us to give advice that is likely more accurate.

This bodystyle originally had Wool cloth panels with cotton batting between the cloth and the panel board. Is this what you have now -or is yours a vinyl (Naugahyde) material?
