Default Oil gauge mounting options

I want to add an oil pressure gauge on my ‘28 roadster; however, I’m not really happy with the way it sits under the dash. With the brake handle in front of the transmission, I’ll be hitting the gauge when I use the brake.
What are others doing to mount a gauge? Thanks for any advice.

Might consider the double gauge (oil and temp) steering column mount Snyder offers. Concur with your dissatisfaction on hanging center mounted gauges.

A few aftermarket ones posted by another barner and Rexaco made a nice mount and looked factory like the appco. Also we have one on our column and is also a 1930 accessory mount

In the day a lot of gauges were mounted up by the windshield, especially tachometers. I would suggest adding a voltmeter too as it is a good way to keep track of your battery.

Does the engine have stock or modified oiling system?

I've seen an instrument mount clamped to the steering column between the steering wheel and the tank. If you do that, you could mount where ever suits depending on where you have the spokes of the steering wheel in the straight ahead position.

Vern, I got this two gauge mount from Bert's. Clamps to the steering Column. You can position it any way you wish. They have one for one, two or three gauges. https://modelastore.com/index.php?ro...&category_id=0
