Great items to add to a Glass Case full of original Ford Parts.
They would obviously be rock hard, so you would not use them on a vehicle.
Good for display only. Thanks for showing these items.

I've a bunch of them; they are indeed rock hard and beyond use.

The 40 Ford ones I have while 8 years newer are rock hard too!
Like a lot of things, the box is worth more than the contents!!

The seller had a BIN for $750 and it just sold. Crazy.

You can put them in boiling hot water and they will get soft like when they were new. I did that on a Model A ford when showing in MARC. Never had a problem with them. After I got a Marc I sold the car to Snyder's. I will check to see if they are still on the 400A.

But when you think about stamp collectors.... Can you even mail a letter with that old one cent POS? Do people still collect stamps? I have a friend here that has 200 pairs of beaded indian moccasins. He used to go to auctions in the Dakotas to get another pair. I once had over 30 old briggs and stratton air cooled motors from the 20s .30s and 40s. Overhead valves, exposed bronze rocker arms etc, etc. I think those hoses and boxes are way cooler than a stamp from Zanzibar. Are any of these items worth the money? Not on God's green earth. When I tired of them and liquidated my briggs engines I did just fine. Just Don't wait too long. I recently met an 82 year old guy with three shipping containers of model T and A parts and from the looks of the blackberries growing around them, Oh, never mind.

Yet there ARE select times when old AND hard can have very beneficial results. DD

Even if it worked, I would not try the emersion in boiling water technique, either.

If you do try that, you're likely to have the results in your hands very quickly.

My dad was a stamp collector since he was in grade school. When he finally realized it was time to thin the herd the offers he received from dealers was far less than the face value of the stamps in the collection. For years after that he mailed his bills and other correspondence with various stamp denominations. Yes, they were still valid.

My dad was too. I have some of them, but I guess they'll just go to my kids with all the wartime photos. Funny how your dad used them up!

Except that is pretty much guaranteed to "soften it up a bit".

This post has cracked me up, strange the old boxes held up in value, and the old hoses are worthless.
