1930-1931 Water outlet neck Question?

Got this Water Outlet Neck (NOS) .
It has a different thickness on the bolt/nut area than the one I have on the car and the spare. Is this a later replacement ????

I have a NORS outlet that is new in the Wolner Mfg. Co. box that looks exactly like yours. That is not to say that yours isn't NOS because in the post Model-A era Ford sometimes sourced replacement parts from different manufacturers and shipped them to Ford dealers in Ford boxes. Some parts that were distributed as OEM by Ford Motor Co. in the later 30's and 40's might not pass judging as "original" today.

The reinforced ears were added in 1931. Mid year I think but no time to look it up for sure. With that said, I believe the mounting ears should still be the same thickness.

Original castings should have a small one or two digit number cast in (NOT embossed), and no other markings.

Marco, you mention the stamped or cast digits on original outlet necks.
My car [ 1929] has EP11[ outlet] & 10EP on water pump casting. Does anyone know what 'EP' stands for.? These have always been on the engine which is original to the car.

Canadian engine ,July '29. RHD export to NZ, semi knocked down. Definately 'EP'. I have another water pump body stamped 7 EP.

"EP" or "Eureka Planter" was a farm implement company in Ontario, Canada and produced castings for Ford of Canada. Their castings were supplied on Canadian produced Model A's for domestic and export. Castings included water pumps, water outlet and inlets, exhaust and intake manifolds, etc. Their castings can be easily indentified by the recessed "EP" in the casting followed by a casting number. 31 Roadster, thankyou for this information ; I am impressed. I have never delved into Canadian Model A Foundation as I believe it costs money. Also we know the usual things [ but not 'EP' !] about Canadian production here as we got those A's in NZ.
