Re: Mechanical Brakes adjustment
The brake board can be used any way you wish. One size doesn't fit all. If you want the rears to do more, it'll do it. Want them all the same, it'll do it. Want the fronts to come in first, it'll do it. The board is to set the drag when and where you want it, as in most things it comes down to the operator. If you want to start a fire, it'll work once. If you want to adjust brakes it'll last a lifetime.
But, this is just one old guys opinion. FWIW. |

Re: Mechanical Brakes adjustment
If you use the stick properly, I don’t see how you can have both front and rear brakes the same. In the end, rear brakes should have a solid stop, and front brakes grabbing. The stick, when used properly, ensures this.

I tried Bob's method that didn't work so well on my car. Car did stop but not as quick and distant I would like. Did the board after watching Paul Shinn and a couple other guys that was about the same as Paul's, with great result's. Now a board fan!!

Re: Mechanical Brakes adjustment
For what it is worth, I used the board method to get them close, then used the skid test for final adjustment. Worked real well for me.
