Re: Local Estate Auction 1935 Roadster Sells for $53,925.00
I bought a really nice original 40 deluxe opera coupe this summer for 30k and was happy to get it.

I wasn't aware of Ford offering an opera coupe in 1940.

Prices for most air-cooled VW's, including legitimate deluxe busses are increasing. Most sell privately, so you never see the prices or flashy pictures. Your term of "shit boxes" is out of touch and not necessary to this discussion or your point. |

Regarding real 21-23 buses, it appears I misspoke and I appreciate your correction. I have been loosely tracking the converted buses and I don't have access to the private sales nor am I in the market for a real bus. Thank you for the correction. It was deserved. |

Re: Local Estate Auction 1935 Roadster Sells for $53,925.00
They didn’t. But you know exactly which coupe I’m talking about and so do 99.9% of 40 ford owners. I have your book, so I know what Ford called the different coupes. Consider me admonished by the lord of the 40 Ford. Now feel free to tell everyone what they really call the 40 with the little fold down seats.

Makes life interesting and well, kind of fun. I suppose the first new thing I have learned today is that not everyone enjoys learning new things. Lesson learned. Thank you.

Re: Local Estate Auction 1935 Roadster Sells for $53,925.00
I'm restoring one of those at this time. Kind of cool. Still, I have to wonder how big (tiny) the woman photographed in the rear seat area was that Ford used for their advertisements back then.

You guys make me afraid to buy a 40 Ford coupe (I own no 40 Fords) - for fear that I might call it the wrong name!
Just kidding yah . . . a but too much coffee is flowing through my veins. |

Too much coffee is like too much money. Simply no such thing.

Past a certain age, there is such a thing as too much coffee (as it is a diuretic).

My cardiologist says there is. I'm limited to one cup a day (sometimes, I cheat).

Dave and Dennis... you two are hilarious.
I just finished my first pot. Second one is brewing. Sleep is highly over rated.
