Default Odd-ball 30 Pickup......

This picture popped up on FaceBook Marketplace tonight.

Looked like just another abandoned hotrod project until I noticed the back of the cab.
A Fordor sedan cut down to make the cab.
Hope if someone buys it they know exactly what they're getting.

Asking $7500 with modern drivetrain, 302 engine disassembled.

Very interesting.

It may make an interesting project, sort of a hot rod with a vintage look.

If I stated what I really think about this kind of thing I would be banned for excessive profanity.

Looks like a fun project. I wouldn't have known it was a cut down sedan.

Here is a larger picture of the subject Pick-Up. You need to chase up the body from a genuine Pick-Up to make it into a great Model A Pick-Up. That is my Two Cents worth.

This is what a 1930 Ford Model A Pick-Up should look like.

There were many of these done back in the day, so I really don't think this is a modern creation. My godfather had one. Wish I could have gotten it, but he didn't want to sell it to me because the brakes were really bad. Someone I know, Tom (yes Ray that Tom) use to ride his bike over and drool over it way back when.

My father built his pickup out of a Tudor about 1952. Cut out the middle, and attached the back panel and a metal roof with sheet metal screws. Damn, but I wish I had that truck today.

Looks like they did a decent job on it. I would like to have it as I need a pick up now and again. modernize the power train with a O/D and you will be good to go.

This conversion must've happened sometime before 1956 based on the receipts found between the bed and back of the seat. We got the car in 76 and I've been driving it up until last year when the clutch hub decided to let all the springs out.

I'm in the process of moving all the rebuilt parts (front end, rear end, engine) from this coupe/PU to a pickup proper and installing a T170 trans at the same time. Once done with the pickup this one will be disassembled, frame stretched 1' (the bed sticks under the body into the trunk area 1'), and the back of the cab will be finished off. Model A Club Cab PU.

That’s a decent job of matching belt lines.

1930 Ford Model A Coupe with added Pick-Up Bed - owned by MALAK. Very unusual creation!

This followed me home and it was a 30 coupe made into truck. Was told story about it from 2nd owner. Had been sitting in barn for some 40 + years. Got it running and after a couple minutes smoothed out and idles/runs great. Haven't decided what I will do restore as pickup or leave as is.

Google......Model A Ford Warbaby. During WWII many a passenger car was cut down to create a pickup truck. Pickup trucks were issued more fuel rationing stamps than a typical passenger car. Hence the name warbaby.

I used to see these in the 60's and 70's. Farmers with cut off backs and wooden trays. Just the same as you have living by it's lonesome in your shanty shed in your back yard. That's you I'm writing about Synchro909
I worked in New England in the early 70's. A farmer by the name of Moffat drove out to the airstrip to speak to me. He was followed out by two of his sons. The three driving these cut down A's converted to Utes. They had 10 A's in total. I asked them how and why. All purchased at farmers clearing sales because, they said, one day they figured they would be a sort after motorcar. They declined my offer to take one off their hands. Probably just as well as I had no money. It wasn't until '86 that I got one. Still had no money, but just had to have one. I had lusted for one since I was a kid.
I now have three and a pristine FX Holden. I don't warm to the Holden. Well who would when you can have a Model A.
