68A or B top finish question
The upper landau mount has a rubber spacer and metal cover. They fit between the top material and the landau iron. Should the metal piece be painted or plated? Body color is Andulusite Blue. My cabriolet did not have the piece when I got the car, so this is a reproduction piece and is unpainted plain steel. My finger is touching the piece in question. Thanks. |

I believe the cover is plated. The cover on my Cabriolet is chrome. Some early cabriolets could be nickle but I am not sure.

Thanks, I guess I'll have them plated.
I had set them aside in a box of mostly repro top parts and everything else had gone to the painter or the plater already. Just one more last minute thing to do before assembly is complete. |

One exception are the two windshield slides. They are chrome on the cabriolet. My guess is because the nickel would not look right next to the chrome frame. |
