1930 Firewall Fuel Bowl

Can anyone tell me what the 1930 fuel bowl as attached to the firewall under the hood looks like? Is it cast iron with no glass bowl. I am experiencing perpetual leaks in the fitting at the carburetor fuel line where it attaches to the firewall fuel bowl. I have had several re-pop aluminum fuel bowls on here and am unable to stop the weeping at the fuel bowl/carb fuel line joint.

If I remember right, the cast iron fuel bowl is 'original'. However, I think the glass bowl is also original and that is the one I use. One trick you may try is to solder the ferule and see if that stops the weeping. Also, I use teflon tape on the threads.

Thanks for the feedback, I suspect it is the old problem of reproduction parts again.
I drilled the outlet and tapped it with pipe thread then fitted a flare fitting. See how that works..

I use the cast iron sediment bowl . I don't need to see sediment . The lead gasket works well and I get no leaks . I much prefer the look of the cast iron bowl . I had a model A burn in the driveway because of a leaking glass sediment bowl .

I have read somewhere that the glass sediment filter was comingled in production with the cast iron filter from mid-1929 through the end of production. Its been my experience that both work well. However, on a recent restoration I prefer to use the glass sediment filter until there is no evidence of debris from the gas tank. I would also recommend using the glass sediment filter on a recent ly purchased Model "A."
