I pulled the motor out to install a new clutch along with freeing up the
travel on the throwout bearing fork.
Removed the motor no problem installed the new clutch when I went to
reinstall motor had it on a pretty good angle when oil starting coming out
The back. New to these banger motors so please enlighten on this issue.
I have not taken appart to see if any oil was on the clutch disc hopefully not.
Thanks for your help..

The model A engine uses a front and rear oil slinger .

There was originally no rear oil seal on the model A engines

If the rear of the engine is in a steep enough angle

Oil will bypass the rear oil slinger and leak oil out of the rear of the engine

If the rear main bearing is badly worn it will be more likely to leak.

The angle of the motor probably allowed oil to go thru the bearing and past the slinger. Probably no oil is in the clutch assy, the flywheel is in the way.

The Ford Service Bulletins mention that trucks that unloaded on ramps had a problem of leaking motor oil from the rear bearing. Ford's corrective action was to put a check ball in the oil drain pipe that protrudes from the rear main bearing on all Model "AA" motors. The lesson learned here is that oil will leak out through the oil return pipe and through the rear main bearing when the motor is on a significant nose-up angle.
The oil passage through the drain pipe goes along a separate passage along the bottom of the rear main bearing to the oil slinger behind the bearing. Thus the oil bypasses the rear main bearing and will readily flow out of the slinger and into the flywheel housing.
