Keep in mind guys, that this is an old thread that was resurrected so some folks might see that 31 Flathead has been through some tough stuff - and maybe just have a bit of empathy for him.

With that said, a LOT of folks have been through tough shit - so if he was way out of line, then that is on him (and I surely don't question the way that Ryan runs this joint).

31 Flathead has been banned for a thread that I know nothing about - so I can't comment on the issues of late, but I do know that I felt for the guy back when this original thread was created.

In speaking to disabilities in general, and those involving brain function in particular, many of us lack the personal experience to put these issues in focus. I can attest to the ongoing social challenges faced by the individual, as certainly as disabling as physical mobility challenges. My observation from the perspective of family, it does affect everyone to some degree, and it is on us as community to try to empathize and endeavor to not load additional burdens upon that individual. This in no way is a free pass, but a hope that our responses be from a position of understanding. I for one have been less than understanding at times, and perhaps contributed to the banning of 31flathead for which I regret. I hope his ban is temporary, and (speaking for myself) as we get older, we tend to become curmudgeonly, for which a degree of understanding may also be in order.

You are a solid human being my friend! It is easy to criticize, easy to jump in the shark tank (as a shark) and eat the fresh kill . . . it is a LOT harder to reflect and communicate on one's own shortcomings. Nicely done.

Maybe all the 'Apples' learned something? In the highly dysfunctional world we find ourselves in, it is easy to get caught up in the moment and not realize that words do matter. We all tend to jump on the band wagon . . . and we can all get better. Lets keep things positive and supportive, otherwise NONE of us should be here . . .

And I too want to offer my friendship and best wishes. I have had two heart surgeries and face another in a year or two. Not like yours, but it gives me empathy and a knowledge of the feelings you are having. I pray you will continue to as my dad would say 'Keep your chin up'. God Bless, GB from a mountain on an island.
