Flush-Mount Doors
Purchased a `31 Victoria a few months ago ... and was pleasantly surprised to find it had flush-mount doors. All my past experience with Model A's had involved the much-more-common lap door. Limited research suggests to me that the town sedan may have also had flush mount doors, but these were the only two Model A's to be so equipped.
Just curious ... other than the Victoria, were there other Model A's made with flush mount doors? Thanks for your help... |

Re: Flush-Mount Doors
The S/W cars have flush doors. Actually, when I first saw an A with the lap-style doors, I thought something was wrong with it...

Hahaha That's funny, Doug, I don't care who you are. Appreciate the response. Now I know there are at least two Model A's with flush-mount doors ... the Vicky and the S/W. Thanks.

Re: Flush-Mount Doors
The 190A Victoria was the first production Model A Ford to have flush doors. The doors for the 400A are the same. These doors are 35" wide making them the widest of passenger car doors. These large doors mount to the body with only 2 hinges, so the hinge pins and hinge mounting screws are larger than usual.

Re: Flush-Mount Doors
On my 160B the doors are not flush. They overlap the post.

Re: Flush-Mount Doors
I think flush mounts make all the difference and I would choose them if given the choice.

Re: Flush-Mount Doors
Are lap doors a four door thing? My 30 cabriolet has what I consider to be flush doors, just like the 180A and 400A
