Default will this Tacho work on my Ford

Hello folks, I need advice. I searched for a tacho for my flathead, running on 12 V with a converted Chevy dizzy. A gentleman offers me this SUN tacho , I is a nice piece and would suit my car. Now the question: do I need some sort of signalbox on this SUN or is it possible to connect it to the car as in the drawing without any extra device?
Thanks for your knowledge!

I have 3 SUN tach heads that require a box, and none are marked as yours is: "IGN SW" and "TRIGGER'. I would say that yours is a later model that does not require a box......just connect it as it says......ignition switch and distributor side of the coil (trigger). Remember to ground the head to your dash.

That is the way I wired my tach., and it works perfect.
I do know that sometimes, not often, that a developed miss will occur, and has to
do with the tach going bad.

All of these abbreviations of terms foreign to a flathead can be mind boggling at times, i.e. dizzy, carbie, tranny on ad infinitum. When you said tacho I thought at first you were referring to my favorite Mexican food.

Oh well....

Lawson, I am sorry for my shortcut words. Did not want to confuse any of you. Rest assured that I have my own problems with some of the posts as my native language is german.
cheers, Harty

I do understand the short cut "Tranny, Carb", but did not understand "Dizzy"
until another member come up with "Dissy" which made better sense to me.
To Me: Dizzy = staggering, or falling down. Dissy = distributor.

Oh well. LOL

My first thought on "Dissy" was slang for disrespectful. Hey, it's all coloquial anyhow. LOL

Sorry this got off track.
To answer your question. If the tach is in good workable condition it will work
