Default KSL 230 Trico Wiper Motor

I have a Trico KSL230 Vacuum Wiper Motor that, from everything I can find is supposed to be the replacement for the original TR01B motor used on 30-31 Standard open cars. I have installed it on my 31 Standard Roadster but the shaft rests on the hood if I fold the windshield down. From the Judging Standards the original motor had a shaft 1 9/16" long. The KSL230 shaft measures close to 2". Has anyone else run into this?

I have 1935 and 1946 Trico catalogs and the 1935 shows RSL-123 for STD open cars and the 1946 shows KLS-123 for STD open cars. The 1946 catalog shows KLS-230 for 1933-34 pass. side open car.
