Trying to remove speedo gear case.
Quick question. Do I have to drop my brake cross shaft in order to remove the speedo gear case ? Cross shaft is right up almost against the gear case. Should it be so close ? Wondering if my rear motor mounts have let things drop a bit ?

Bill, I started to jack it up and stopped, thought I'd ask first.

Re: Trying to remove speedo gear case.
It does sound like you have frame sag. I removed my speedometer case without removing anything else.

::: with the levers vertical the cross shaft should be slightly behind the turtle allowing for easy removal Last edited by Mitch//pa; 07-20-2015 at 09:49 PM. |

Re: Trying to remove speedo gear case.
Mine was really close...I was just able to get the bolts out and the turtle slipped out....the tricky part was getting it back in with the gasket intact and in the right place
