We have two "old style" diners in York Cty., ME. Blast from the Past in Waterboro and Rock n' Roll Diner in Scarborough. I believe they're owned by the same people..... Mark

How do they get away with not meeting ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) mandates with respect to the entrance? No wheelchair access....

The wheelchair ramp is on the left end not visible in the other pictures:

When this one was in Champaign, my cousin and I sobered up there more than once after a night on the town.

Hunter Dinerant in Auburn, NY.
"Dinerant" I guess is a conflation of Diner and Restaurant.
Great Hot Turkey and gravy sandwiches with fries.
I don't get the turkey gravy on the fries though.
I guess it's an Upstate thing
We've looked but haven't found any history as yet.

I grew up (allegedly) in New Jersey, where dinner eating is king. Jersey dinners are disappearing as well and many look like stand alone restaurants. Miss the dinners, fortunately live in Minnesota and can go to Mickey's when I need a fix. Only problem is they don't have a pork roll and egg on a hard roll.
