Speedway Oil Pump
Hi All,
Has anyone used the Speedway brand Oil Pumps. If so what oil pressure do you have. Thanks - Pete |

Re: Speedway Oil Pump
What pressure is, is dependent on where it goes- that is, what stops it- how tight the clearances are in the engine... I have read about off shore pumps with defects- I would ask about the source of the manufacturer...
I would not use a high volume pump, takes more power to run, churns up the oil, makes heat, stresses parts... I don't think that a tight engine needs all that much pressure, my fairly fresh 59AB runs 63lb. @ 2-3 K rpm, hot Idle @ 1K rpm is just over 35lb. Half of that would still be OK, IMO Karl |
