Barn Yard Find..1923 T-Bucket
Hey Guys, I'm actually looking to get a little bit of feedback here. I Recently came across this 1923 T-Bucket, and plucked it out of an old friends garage. Engine cranks with good compression. No Rust on the frame, however it's missing seats and floorboard & winsheild. Everything else looks good and is original stock parts. So I've got two questions, what would you say the value of it is in the current condition? Also whats a rough estimate on getting it back into running shape and having the seats/floorboard redone..? Thanks!

Re: Barn Yard Find..1923 T-Bucket
Brightened the photo a bit.
Looks like a '24-'25 chassis with good front fenders, radiator, aprons, sitting on the frame with good wheels and air in the tires. As for the body, all that is there is the rear seat of a touring car, you can seen the hinge plates where the rear doors should be. The body is not complete, the entire wood body sill and all wood framing is missing, there is a whole lot of work to do to make it back to a touring , best to just find another body for this chassis. The total $ to rewood and make a body, add the rear fenders, , associated parts and get it running, painted and assembled,...with uphol and top,... you are looking at $4K to $8K or more...depending. Approx value of that chassis and sheetmetal as is, about $2K. |

Actually there's more gone than there if you want a Touring out of it. I'll bet Tmodel isn't far off in his estimates.

Re: Barn Yard Find..1923 T-Bucket
I know for a fact if you were going to rebuild it back to a touring, the wood kit alone with shipping would be about 2 grand.
Let's estimate some prices: Wood Kit 1600 Side panels 250 each for 500 Seat box 110 Top Irons 400 Top 450 Interior 450 What I've listed above is close to 4 grand. That's not including anything we cannot see, and of course any motor work or running gear work. Even a decent Hack body would be 3 grand plus. I started my touring with about this much, probably less, but to look at my touring now you would never know it. |
