Help identify wire wheels
I have a set of old ford wire wheels I would like to date. they are 16" and have 32 spoke. I looked for a part number possibly stamped and see nothing. im thinking after looking on the net they might be 1933-34? any help much appreciated. thank you

16" is 1935. 17" is 33-34 (& 35 European), 18" 1932

Re: Help identify wire wheels
Want some more? Sorry to disappoint, but while the 16" and 17" versions aren't worthless there are a lot of them around and it's the old supply and demand phenomenon. If they were of the bent spoke version, that would be a different ball game. The 18" straight spoke variety are also more in demand and fewer were made originally.

I recently sold a set of 5 seventeen inch '34 Ford wire wheels for $200.00. They moved pretty fast....

Re: Help identify wire wheels
If the rims are straight there is certainly a market for them, check around for what they have sold for.

Re: Help identify wire wheels
The 16" Ford wires are always in demand. They are popular with the trad hot rod people. Straight welded spokes = Ford.
Bent spokes = Kelsey Hayes and are worth more. Mart. |
