Re: uncomfortable seats
I was going to ask the question of where to get complete seats that are decent, I've got a late 31 CCPU with the indented fire wall, the seats in it are not right, there is a wood platform between the riser and seat, there have been several discussions about seats on here but i thought there had been a problem with the pickup seats, is there anything specific I would need to know.
Thanks |

Re: uncomfortable seats
The late '31 seat is different from the earlier ones. I just haven't figured out exactly what the differences are. Mine is the all steel Bud cab, and I'm told that it is even different yet. So who knows???

My wife loves the camping cushions like the one from REI.... In the link attached. Just enough extra cushion and you can also let out air to make if a perfect fit for your behind... |

Re: uncomfortable seats
Get a cabriolet. It's a coupe that has a roof that opens.

Re: uncomfortable seats
My 31 Slant windshild Town Sedan has a comfortable front seat, but I do sink down into it a bit too much. As it has the original upholstery and springs I don't want to change it, but I was thinking of putting blocks of high density upholstery foam between the coils of the springs to stiffen up the seat bottom a bit. I'm sure my 260 lbs. has nothing to do with the situation.

I agree with the newer wheels and bigger tires, and I have spring covers soaked in 250 weight oil, and new Bill Stipe shocks. I just need a nice coupe. |

Re: uncomfortable seats
One of the guys in our club has VW Bug seats in his Tudor. Looking at them, I had no idea! He says they are very comfortable.

Re: uncomfortable seats
There are GREAT ADVANTAGES in owning a VERY COMMON OLD TUDOR !!!
I'm ALSO happy with my VERY COMMON OLD 5 WINDOW COUPE, since I put in SWIVEL BAR STOOL SEATS! (hic!) Bill W.

Re: uncomfortable seats
With my new stipe shocks, my 31' tudor rides better than my wife, tiny KIA.

Re: uncomfortable seats
CarlG, I have the cut-down Snyder springs in my '31 CCPU and love them. I am 6', 200 lb. Years ago I had a '30 CCPU with stock springs and I couldn't sit in it for more than 30 min.
2manycars, a friend of mine has a '31 Vicky which originally essentially the same front seats as a tudor. He put seats from a Dodge/Chrysler mini-van in and they are comfortable. |

Wrecking yards are like a SHOPPERS' PARADISE, when searching for BUCKET SEATS!
