Insurance for the Pickup
Just looked at my Florida Insurance Card -- Essentia Insurance and can not find a contact number -- something never noticed before. Whom would I need to do business with? It's a '31.
Thanks |

Re: Insurance for the Pickup
What is your question? How to contact them, look the number up on the web or on your policy. Or are you looking for suggestions for other companies that cover antique cars? My insurance card is from the company that insures my rigs not from the state, don't know how they do it in Florida. I would think that if you pay that you would have all that info anyway. ?

I'm sorry -- I meant to ask whom do you guys do business with. Yes, I went to the web site, got this number their voice-mail offered me no help. I'm looking for companies that offer coverage for antique cars. Since I paid 10 months ago for one years coverage, misplaced everything except the insurance card- Again -- Thanks |

Re: Insurance for the Pickup
If I am not mistaken Essentia Insurance is what is on my card from Hagerty . I have 4 Model As with them plus a '82 Jeep CJ7 all with agreed value for 499 including road service. I live in VA.

Re: Insurance for the Pickup
Hagerty...2 A's, a "77 Jeep and a "69 Shelby...no claims but very easy to work with adding cars, asking questions or changing values.

Re: Insurance for the Pickup
At one time I looked at Grundy, they sent me the paperwork. They wanted way too much info, was difficult to look at let alone try to fill out. I started filling it out, got disgusted, gave up, and signed up with Hagerty.
My experience 6 years ago, perhaps they have changed. Last edited by 30 Closed Cab PU; 04-17-2019 at 08:48 PM. Reason: typo |

Re: Insurance for the Pickup
You need to be prepared on how you want to drive the car. Some insurance companies do not want you driving it regularly...only occasionally. At one time I had Grundy, then found out they did not like me driving my car to the post office and grocery store every week...that was too routine for them, and I actually called them and discussed. I am now with the AAA, as are my other cars.....very happy with coverage and cost.

Re: Insurance for the Pickup
I have grundy on my '77 trans am. I looked at Hagerty as well before I choose. Grundy (and I spoke to them directly) has no mileage restrictions. The rep. even went as far to tell me that 'they encourage people to drive their cars'. I even asked if I just wanted to take the car out for ice cream or any other dumb reason just because it was a nice day and they said no problem. One of the reasons I went with them. And, they were slightly less than Hagerty. I have agreed value around 30k premium is less than $200 a year. I dont remember any type of long form required. They did ask that I send pics of all sides of the car to them for verification. I think if you get into a higher price range they will send an adjuster to verify value. One other thing I believe they do require is that the car is mostly original, not highly modified.

Holdover!! Thank you for your assistance with Hagerty Insurance, my carrier. I did get my issues understandable -- and now have a second card with contact information's. They were very nice and quick. What cause me to check my coverages -- my Grandson totaled my modern-car last week -- and then the threaten phone calls began -- but they did leave me 800 numbers ?? South Florida is the Scam-Capitol of the World, as at the location of the accident -- the other party stated three times: No Injuries -- three days later -- I'm being sued for massive internal injuries. Again -- Thanks Everyone !! |

The same with Hagarty. Although they don't want you to use the 'A' for a daily driver they also encourage that we get them out and enjoy them. In a previous post about insurance someone said they were told that you couldn't even drive to the grocery store etc I called Hagerty and ask directly and was informed that although they don't want to insure a daily driver there was no restrictions to running errands while out for a drive. Re: Insurance for the Pickup
x2. Agreed value, regular license (not antique), no driving restriction, and under $100 per year for full coverage. Course I had multi-line discount and it wasn't Florida - I know insurance is at least double there (hurricanes and scams). Thankfully, I never had a claim so I don't know how that would have gone. |
