Default electric wipers

Many wipers are available from the vendors. What is a source for: 1) touring class wiper, what the average owner with a nice car uses and 2) high point judging class ? Thanks, Bill

My '29 155A Town Sedan has an original electric wiper, appropriate for the car per the JS, installed which has worked very well. I personally prefer the use of Rainex as the best way to keep the windshield clean. It has the "plus" of giving the right seat passenger a clear view so that she can "help" drive.

My car came from the factory with an electric wiper, but it had been converted to vacuum when I bougt it in 1975. I have an original electric wiper, but have never gotten around to change it. I seldom drive in the rain (only when caught by surprise) and use RainX, which works very well with the flat windshield.

The originals are different from year to year and model to model. Whaddya got? I have heard there is a new one being made that allows the windshield on a closed car to fully open. Check Bratton's or Snyder's.

If you are not concerned with being original, Newport Engineering makes an electric one that wipes both driver & passenger sides and allows the window to open also. I don't have this, but have considered it. My only wiper right now is a manual. Not real efficient when caught in a downpour, which has happened on a few occasions.
