Does the through the roof antenna have any provision for keeping it ungrounded as it passes through the windshield frame? A test light shows mine to be grounded. Radio still plays. Carl

There is a rubber grommet that disallows any contact between the metal body and the antenna.

Can understand a rubber grommet being at the roof sheet metal, but what about where it attaches to the windshield frame with a tightening nut? Carl

There are a number of plastic "washers" as well as a grommet in that area.

Do you have a complete and authentic antenna?

Can someone furnish a picture of how the antenna passes through the garnish rail area? I am stuck on the same thing. I understand how it goes through the roof but confused of where and how it passes through the garnish rail on the inside.

Here's what it looks like in a sedan with the mirror removed.

Regret that I didn't take a hard look at the antenna installation when I changed out the headliner. Outwardly appears as an original. With the mirror removed, there appears a 1/2" threaded tube through the wind shield frame held tight by a nut type fitting. Garnish molding starts and stops either side of the nut.

Much different than the wagon though which is what I have.
