Default 29 roadster door panels

I'm tired of looking at the tear in my interior door panels where the door handle assembly pokes thru. Whoever did the job just cut the material with a knife. The handle screws on the square rod fine but it looks like there is a 1/4" gap between the panel and handle. Is there supposed to be a piece of trim to take up the space and cover the cut in the panel fabric ? Appreciate your help. Bill

Here is a picture of Marco's, I don't know if 29 is the same as 30.
"The door handle was backed by a dull nickel plated flat washer or "escutcheon" measuring 7/8" x 1/16" thick."
