Default Sport Coupe Hardware 1928-29

Hi Guys: Are these tapered nuts used to hold the bottom of the vertical metal straps beside the window to the belt rail wood. I still have to get the broken bolt studs out. If not where are they used?

Thanks: The Old Tinbasher

The odd ball conical nuts are what go on the carraige bolts inserted from the bottom at the ends of the wood header above the windshield. The nuts go on the top of the wood header wood. What you have left with the threads are the remains of the carriage bolts. If you look at the wood header, you will see counterbored holes for the round nuts on each end. I don't think the parts suppliers sell these nuts. I had to make my own for my 28 special coupe as they looked like your - badly rusted. The nuts and carriage bolts are used on all 28/29 coupes and tudors.
