Default Re: Quail radiator cap vs. thermometer?

I know that Ford initially offered the Flying Quail radiator cap on many of the Model A's, but was wondering if any of those also included a thermometer... such as the ones now being offered on the reproduction versions of the quail (that are available online)? Or, is the thermometer simply a modern-day add-on feature, that was never offered as an original equipment item?

Also, what models (and model years) came with the quail cap as standard equipment?

Thanks!

That's what I'd thought, as I've been reading through the set of books by Lorin Sorensen, and the flying quail cap is mentioned many times, sometimes in more detail than others... but there's never any mention of it also having a thermometer installed in it.

Thanks for your input!
