1930 Tudor - Rear Parking Light - whats this??

So - Tonight I replaced the multiple corroded connectors causing intermittent brake and parking light illumination with soldered, heat shrink, with only one dual connector, eliminating multiple points of failure. Then.... the parking lights went out!! Out comes the tracer light, no voltage at the connector, but brake light works. I trace the wire to the front - no splices - until I reach the device pictured below. I cringed about touching it, but I couldn't resist. I removed the retaining clip, pulled it back, couldn't see where with the rust to separate pieces, so I put it back together. I tried the lights again and bingo - the parking light was working. A little drive later, and it was not on. I pulled it off and put it back on, and it was working. I'm presuming this is part of that switch connecting to the steering column, but was wondering if one of the wires is either corroded causing the intermittent disconnection. I wanted to check here before I go whole hog and break something.

OK - I figured out this is a light switch, with not too many places making reproductions. I was considering seeing if I can open, spray contact cleaner on contacts, possibly apply dielectric grease, and close instead of either the one import replacement, or finding a rebuilt or OEM switch. Looking at the exterior condition of the housing, I almost think this would be a good first step??

Yep, thats a light switch. The originals are good, the repro's are not. They to get full of oil/grease. Its a pretty basic simple thing.

A wiring diagram would be helpful and should be to be found in search/archives.
