Hey Coop. No pictures, therefore nothing for Petehoovie to enlarge.

I PM'd the pictures to you!

My pictures DON'T require enlarging by a Petehoovie.

If feel bad for ya if you require a Petehoovie to click on a thumbnail (little picture) to make it large for you.

Coop:

Thanks for the PM, HOWEVER, I cannot pull up anything from it either.

The only thumbnails I see are the ones on my dupuytren's contractures deformed hands. Lawson.

I think it might be helpful if someone would include the dimension of the total depth of the respective drums in case someone out there doesn't have both types to compare.

36 is the only one with ribs around the perimeter

......of the wide 5 drums. '35 drums also have ribs around the perimeter.

Sorry David, but 35 drums are 5 1/2" PCD, not wide 5. The easy way to differentiate 35 drums from 32-34 is via the ribs you mention.

Brian,

My point was that the '36 drums are not the only ones with ribs as you flatly state.

1st pic ....One can't miss this big, long snout on '36 - ONLY. Also, the only circumferential ribs on a 'WIDE 5', and of course, the "STAR" pattern on inside.....'36 - ONLY.

2nd pic shows two-piece, ('39 - ONLY) WIDE-Fives on RIGHT side.

3rd pic shows more '39 2-piece drum.

Coop

While on this subject then, I have three drums that came with spare parts for my '37 that don't belong to it.
From info above it looks like the centre and right hand ones are '36, although the centre one has a swirl pattern instead of a straight star pattern.
The left hand one fits the criteria of '36 (wide five and ribs) but has a wide flange around its perimeter. Most obvious in the last picture.
Is this another variant of '36?

Rear Brake drum on my 1936 Ford Phaeton. This photo was taken in the Sixties, so I believe that it is original to this car?

My Kiwi new 36 sedan has the open “Rocky Mountain “ drums. Real sure they are original to car.
