41 Horn Query
When I got the 41, I really had to mash on the button to get the horn to blow.
I changed over to a 47 horn ring as the 41 die cast ring was broken. All worked well for a while, now I just need to brush the ring and the horn will blow. Its getting worse It must be getting very close to earth. I'm not exactly sure how the earth functions, but assume that the sponge rubber in the horn ring hub provides the spring function and insulation to earth. I'm guessing the sponge is deteriorating and I'm getting an 'easy' earth. Is this correct, and if so is there a replacement, or quick fix, say sealant under the sponge to build it up? As always, advice greatly appreciated. |

Re: 41 Horn Query
Found this on the HAMB, looks like the foam could be an issue, I never had the horn ring off my 41 so I can't fully answer your question.

EDIT/UPDATE: Nope, wrong again. I'm missing the horn spring. Clue: the plate inside the cast horn ring is held in place with insulated washers (also a buddy clued me). The foam is there to prove a tactile response when the horn ring is mashed. Last edited by fortyonerag; 06-08-2017 at 02:32 AM. |
