I was envisioning a lot of white and gold, but the original color scheme is starting to grow on me....

Looks good. Another Sport Coupe in NC. Our '28 lives in Hudson, near Hickory, Lenoir, Morganton.

the top was redone back in 1985, been garage kept ever since, a little concerned about it durability since I'll be open trailering thru a lot of rain today so am planing to wrap with stretch wrap, any one had any issues with using this, think I saw something about it in another thread

I would think that would work well. I've used that stuff for other things probably don't stretch is too tight, then maybe do a couple wraps of duct tape over the top. Moisture will find a through to some extent so take it off as soon as you get home. Very nice looking car.

Turn it around, back it on the trailer, less chance of wind peeling the top.

Congratulations on the new Sport Coupe. Not sure if you plan on driving straight through or stopping for tonight. I'm sure you're excited and nervous. Good luck with your trip. I may have to stop by and see it on my way to Raleigh (Ncsu), have two kids in school there. Id love to look at it and compare it to the one I have that needs restored.

I've seen cars with the paint damaged by trash bags used to either cover a broken window or just left laying on the paint for whatever reason. These were dark in color so the clear may not be an issue at all. It may be the heat absorbed in the dark bags that does the damage. I wouldn't think it would hurt the top material at all anyway.

Good luck and post lots of photos, inside and out.

Yes, great looking car.

Please let us know how that U-Haul trailer works out, what size trailer, and whether that is one you would recommend for future use.

Railcar...agreed but.....
Depending on the trailer the heavy weight of eng/tranny behind the trailer wheels can be a stabilization problem.
Be there had that!

Check the front tire webbing straps often.. they have a habit of slipping sideways, and may loosen also.. kb

If you load your Model A on the trailer backwards, take plenty of pictures, because odds are it will it not look the same after the crash.
Th U-haul trailers are great for Model A's, if you see someone that owns an old U-haul car trailer...it's stolen, they never sell them, they are cut up/destroyed, pity, they are great trailers.

SO 591 miles today, 289 yesterday, and 345 left for tomorrow, wrapping it worked well, drove in rain all day, the U-haul trailer works well, hardly knew it there, other than the radiator in my rear view mirror, the wheel straps stretch when they get wet so had to check every stop, until they were soaked
